What you see here is my personal QR Code. If you use a mobile phone that has a QR Code utility you can take a picture of this code and the data contained in it will be added to your mobile device.

This is a new technology that has some great educational implications. Learners can quickly receive information chunks on their mobile devices.

If you have an iPhone you can download the Barcodes application from the iTunes store.

Collaborative Learning with Google Docs - Workshop

Date: Wednesday, October 22nd - 7pm

Description: Google Docs includes Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations and is a free easy platform for online collaboration. In this workshop you will learn the basics on how to use the applications with a specific emphasis on the collaborative functions like simultaneous editing, chat, and editing roles. See examples for how Google Docs are used in the classroom and collaborative working environments.

Length: 90 Minutes

Audience:
SFSU Students, Alum and Faculty Only. Please have intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. You are encouraged to bring a laptop so that you can follow along. Some work stations will be available in the room.

Utilize Google Analytics to Track eLearners - Workshop

Date: Wednesday, October 8th - 7pm

Description: In a typical classroom it's easy to monitor your students reaction to the course material because you are looking right at them. However, in the world of online learning we have less information on what eLearners are doing online. Google Analytics is free software you can install on your website to track visitor, traffic and popular content. In this workshop you will learn how to install Google Analytics and interpret your data from a learning perspective. Find out how your learners use your online courses, which pages are most popular, where learners exit and where they spend the most time.

Length: 90 Minutes

Audience:
This workshop is appropriate for anyone who has created an online learning course and has basic familiarity with html. You may bring a laptop if you want to follow along on your own but it's not necessary.
